BodyFX vs CoolSculpting

While trying to enjoy your summer and beat the heat, have you noticed a little bit of unwanted attention? I'm not talking about a creepy admirer, but your friends and family members taking a notice of the extra little layer of fat that you've been desperately and meticulously trying to exterminate. It is a classic irritation to one's psyche, especially if you've been doing nothing but clean-living; clean-living being exercising four to five times a week and consciously and consistently making your diet the number one priority. So, how can you help erase this bothersome fat? A few new procedures are on the rise, currently erasing liposuction from the memory banks: BodyFX and CoolSculpting. You may have heard of these procedures but maybe you're unsure of what they are, how they work, or which one is more beneficial. CoolSculpting vs BodyFX; let's see who comes out on top.

A Popularity Contest

Though hardly household names, both BodyFX and CoolSculpting have made names for themselves in the world of cosmetic medicine as non-invasive, body contouring and fat-eliminating rituals of the wealthy and famous. But no longer is this celebrity-shaping procedure solely for those held in a biased higher regard. Because of the lack of anesthesia and any sort of insertion into the body, these procedures are deemed low-risk by the doctors and technicians that administer sessions-a much sought after and adorning feature to patients. Both of these procedures will be misconstrued, but appertain to fat-loss only; weight will not be affected and if you're looking for a weight-loss technique, you may want to speak with a nutritionist.

While both procedures have the same endgame in mind, they tend to represent two sides of the same coin. Perhaps your decision will be based purely on preference, but if you dig a little deeper you will see that maybe choosing one side may prove a little bit more beneficial.

What is BodyFX?

Without retreading through too much familiar territory, BodyFX is a body contouring, cellulite treatment and fat reduction machine that is long-lasting and helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite. With the reduction and disappearance of cellulite, elasticity on the stomach, love handles, dimpled skin, fatty areas on the hips/thighs, and other places deemed an eyesore, patients will be able to see improvements in their body over the course of 6-12 months, with the latter being the pinnacle of the surface results taking place.

Each BodyFX treatment or session should take between one and two hours, as each treatment takes about ten minutes, with six to twelve recommended per visit. Body FX uses a combination of different clinically proven techniques that include radiofrequency energy, deep tissue heating and suction coupled negative pressure. In case you're unfamiliar, radio-frequency energy pertains to the distribution of heat into areas of targeted tissue and underlying fat; this causes the tissues to heat and contract. The target tissue will the reach the appropriate temperature, with a second energy pulse following to deliver the blow that is responsible for killing the fat cell.

The area for treatment is usually six inches by six inches with the aforementioned 10 minutes of application of continuous energy that is consistently maintained to a certain temperature that destroys fat cells.

Heating effects stimulate a process similar to that of collagen's, helping to tighten the skin while the secondary pulse improves cellulite appearance and targets localized fat deposits. The vacuum and controlled energy pulses work simultaneously together to provide beautiful body contouring results and a percent of fat reduction each treatment.

What is CoolSculpting?

Fat cells are the enemy in this procedure, as every CoolSculpting technician will inform you, and reassure you. CoolSculpting is based on the discovery that fatty tissue can be terminally damaged. Also called Cryolipolysis, CoolSculpting is also a non-invasive treatment, but instead uses cold temperatures to permanently destroy some the fat cells in your body. These cooling temperatures, however, never get low enough to a point that would cause any sort of harm to a patient's skin, nerves, blood vessels, or muscle tissue.

Once you've scheduled a CoolSculpting appointment, a specialist will instruct a patient to get comfortable for the duration of the procedure. A CoolSculpting gel pad and applicator, which resembles a vacuum (much like BodyFX's equipment), is then attached to the targeted area for about forty-five minutes to about an hour or hour and a half.

The combined efforts of the applicator's vacuum to draw in fatty tissue and use of cool temperatures to begin freezing the fat cells inside is how the procedure is essentially performed. (Remember: Appointments usually take up a good portion of an hour, depending on what parts of the body and how much work you want done during that session; Make sure to bring a book to read or are ready to take a nap.)

Because CoolSculpting is a non-invasive procedure with no use of anesthesia or other drugs-unlike a liposuction surgery- your treatment is very low-risk. However, if a patient has a condition, allergy, or fear that pertains to the procedure, a technician may advise against your treatment. (Ex. Sensitivity to cold temperatures on skin)

Are These Treatments Effective? Will They Last?

The rich and famous swear by BodyFX and CoolSculpting, as do the doctors and technicians that administer the treatments to you. But the fact of the matter is that the results of these procedures will only work if you are conscious about your lifestyle choices-remaining healthy and having a bit of a fixation on positivity as a necessity. Diet and exercise play an important role and are a huge factor in the reduction and eventual destruction (too much?) of the fat in/on your body that plagues you. As fat-reduction procedures like this tend to pertain to those who are nearing their body goals, so those of you who are not will have to work extra hard to where you need to be.

BodyFX or CoolSculpting?

While Body FX may offers a similar process and treatments, the use of heat and pinching could make some patients uncomfortable or give them a quick fright. As previously state, CoolSculpting will give you a little bit of a cool, numbing sensation but it won't last, as it allows you to even loosen your eyelids for a quick snooze. CoolSculpting is the clear winner for those looking for an extra helping hand in their quest for a better body.
